My New Computer, Tada!

What’s good with you world? The last time I posted, I was still using my Dell Dimension e521. 
HA! those days are long gone for me! After my very enjoyable birthday, I had ordered the parts for my new computer that day and it arrived on Thursday afternoon, (almost at a very bad time I might add..) and I came back from work and finished my build Friday morning. (because like any real computer enthusiast, you don’t go to sleep without finishing up your build or fixing something with a problem!)

Valve Steam Cloud

Steam is announcing its new update will now allow you to upload your game save files to the internet. The first games that will be able to take advantage of this new feature is: HL1&2, Team Fortress, CS and Left4Dead. Valve says this service will be without restrictions - meaning you can upload as many save files as you would like. Later versions of Cloud will allow users to upload video captures of matches as well. This seems like a very nice feature, coming from someone who has lost save files numerous times because of hard disk issues.

DD-WRT, a 3rd party firmware, can be used on almost any router on the market. This firmware has a huge list of features, QoS bandwitth allocation, afterburner, and Xlink Kai just to name a few. It also allows you to create your own startup scripts, allowing you to utilize the full potential of your router.

iPhone TV

Well, I’m jealous.. Not only do I not have an iPhone yet, Japan is getting a little device that acts as a receiver that sends signals to the iPhone AND extra battery on the go for the iPhone that allows the iPhone to watch television as well as giving it extra battery life. You download a free app via the app store, that then allows the iPhone to watch TV. Apparently the reason for this creation is because the iPhone isn’t selling well in Japan, one reason being that most new phones over there have the ability to watch TV built in and as you know, the iPhone did not.

Streetfighter IV “definitely” out this winter!

This is joyful news for any big Streetfighter fans, such as myself. I remember the good ol’ days at the arcades of my favorite malls standing on a stool (give me a break, I was like 5 at the time.. LOL) playing Streetfighter, kicking teenager’s (AND some grown men’s) asses. What a great time it was.. No money problems, USA’s economy was as strong as ever and I was too young to even care about anything but games!

Asus Eee Box PC’s infected with malware in Japan

Asus recently started shipping out their new low-budget, but slick looking Eee Box PC in Japan. I’m sure they’ll be glad to know that they’re getting more than they bargained for.. Or actually, maybe not. It seems that the secondary D: drive partition holds the “Recycled.exe” virus. This worm is able to infect all external storage devices attached to the PC. (Which is really scary for someone like myself who has like their entire life on external HDD’s..)
